Ashilia was walking from school back to her house with her friends. They had all recieved a package from Jagex, the creators of Runescape, a game which was very popular at her school; none knew it. She decided to bring up the subject.
"Why do you think Jagex asked for our address?" Ashilia asked. "You don't think they're sending us anything, do you? I mean, they clearly said that Runescape will use our address for only Jagex's use, no third parties? I mean, they didn't NEED it before..." But she was interrupted at that moment.

The roar of an engine sounded, and Razor came barrelling down the road in his BMW, minutes ahead of his opponent. The finish was his driveway, which he turned into and spun the car around, stopping it instantly. He hopped out, laughing. A few minutes later his opponent came poking along in a Volkswagen Golf GTI. He got out of his car and presented Razor with his winnings. Razor pocketed them and walked over to his mailbox...

"What in the world was that about?!" Ashilia asked her friends. "I have no idea... That was really weird." A friend replied. "Whatever just happened, I don't think it was legal. Drag racing..." Another answered, before another interruption...

Razor had opened his mailbox and a package fell out on his foot. A string of foul language quickly followed as he jumped around on his injured foot.

Ashilia shrugged. "See you guys tomorrow!" "Bye, Ashi." "What did I tell you guys?! Don't call me that!" "Whatever." Ashilia turned to where her house was and ran. It was on that street.
She opened up the mailbox. Two packages fell out, one addressed to her, one to her brother. They were both the same size, box shape; and they were both from Jagex. She tore open her package, and her older brother came into site.
"Wassup, sis?" He asked, curious. "There's a package for us both. From Jagex." Ashilia explained, and ripped open her own package. "WHOA! It's a virtual reality set for Runescape 3! Let's get it hooked up!"
Ashilia rushed into the house and plugged the lead from the eyepiece into the USB connector on her computer. She put on the eyepiece, switched on the computer, logged on, went onto the Runescape site, pressed play game, and put the eyepiece on. The game started tugging at her. The entire real world vanished. She was in the world of Runescape, but she didn't know it wasn't virtual... Until she felt for the eyepiece, and tried to take it off. It wasn't there. It was gone. She looked around.
She saw her brother, nodding sadly. He ran off. She saw the same biker she had seen on the street. She saw one of her friends. She saw all sorts of people she didn't know. There was no exit to the current room she was in, but everybody was crowding around a man on a stand. He was ghostly, flickering, like a poorly made hologram.
"Attention, Runescapers!" The ghostly figure's voice rang around the room. "You are seeing me as a shadow from the real world. I am Andrew, creator of Runescape. There is no way out of the Runescape world. Nothing you can do. Your real lives have completely vanished. You may tell who is a member of staff now because of a staff looking much like..." The staff he was holding came flickering with colour and life for a few seconds. "...That. Jagex moderators will have gold staffs, player moderators will have silver staffs, and special moderators will have red staffs (More on these later). Your lives will otherwise be normal in Runescape until I decide what to do with you. Oh, and one more thing..." He paused for a dramatic effect, and had an evil smile. "...Die here, and you are dead forever. Good day!"

Razor popped in just before Andrew's announcement. Afterwards he yelled "My car! I'll never see it again!" He walked over to where Andrew had been and tugged at the ground. The grass came up, revealing...
...a layer of soil. They were in the Runescape world for sure. All of a sudden, someone sreamed. He looked up. A black dragon was flying towards him. He ducked, and it overshot him. It quickly turned around and flew at him again. He jumped up on it and found that it listened to his directions. He laughed and sent it after a crowd of people...

Ashilia dodged the guy on the King Black Dragon. She found that if she concentrated hard enough, she saw her inventory just as she would on normal Runescape 2. Using her mind, she dragged the items onto her real body one by one, and then she was in her dragonhide and such.
She found that she couldn't shoot the rider, but she found herself sucessfully gaining a shot in on the dragon, but it didn't do much damage, and a little health bar appeared underneath, a tiny bit showing red instead of green. "Oh come on, this is just ironic..." She said, and when she looked up, what she had said appeared right above her in yellow text. "Next thing we know, I'll have raised a ranging level--" "Congratulations! You just gained a ranged level!" Came the computer's voice. "Things are going to be different around here..." She sighed. Somebody had an idea. A huge text box had appeared in front of him.
"I've decided to make things more realistic." He said. "Now we will know things in our minds, but not see them. And according to the Jagex console..." The huge text box disappeared. "... In thirty seconds, we should be arriving on the main Runescape land."

Razor's dragon took a shot, and he nearly toppled over. He realized that he had his equipment in his inventory, which he quickly equipped. He was now in full dragon armor, with a dragon battleaxe in his hand. He red cape was flowing behind him. Then he felt a pulling sensation... He was being transferred to the main land of Runescape...

Ashilia shut her eyes. When she opened them, she saw only a few of the people in the room she had seen.
There was the man with the dragon, a couple of nine-year-olds looking anxiously about, and then there was her brother. The young children quickly dashed somewhere, her brother waved sadly, and then ran elsewhere, leaving her with only her surroundings and the man with the dragon.
The Runescape map hasn't changed... Only it's more realistic. Nothing can happen here, we aren't in the wilderness. May as well greet the people around. She thought to herself. And I think that... Yes. All those people aren't here because we're all on different servers! Maybe I can-- Her trail of thought ended from consentration - Maybe it was worth changing worlds? But nothing happened. And then she tried to log out. No avail. They were definitly trapped in Runescape. Andrew Gower is out to get us. Something is going to happen. We're going to have to fight back.
She looked about to see where most people had rushed off to. There were green dragons, and there was a man (Clearly an NPC) giving out anti-dragonfire potions and anti-dragonfire shields. The green dragons were attacking Varrock.
